Winter Storm Watch

We have been talking about northern Arkansas and the possibility for winter weather for about a week now. There's enough confidence significant winter weather will occur that a winter storm watch has been issued for northern Arkansas. I expect an upgrade for many of those counties to a warning. There could be a winter weather advisory issued for a few counties surrounding the watch.

As for central Arkansas, at this time, I expect mostly a cold rain. If there's a transition, it won't be until late Saturday into Sunday morning with temperatures hovering around freezing. A wet ground from rainfall may inhibit any significant accumulation IF we get the transitions. Southern Arkansas will be mostly a cold rain. Once again, the primary impact will be northern Arkansas. Travel impacts could e significant Saturday into Sunday.
