Could we reach 100 Friday? We haven't all summer, but it will be within reach Friday due to a number of factors.
The latest 1st, 100° day for a calendar year was established on September 6th, 1922 so a tie is possible.
What are the factors leading to a hot day?
1) Ridge of high pressure in place
2) Sunshine
3) Ground is drying out
4) west to southwest winds
Right now the GFS is forecasting 94° and the NAM is forecasting 96°. IMO, the chance of hitting 100° is small, but it must be watched Friday.
