sNOwWay?!

We have a return to winter, but I'm not convinced a return to wintry weather.

Guidance is in fairly good agreement for late this week. That's odd! It's going to be another marginal situation with surface temperatures being the biggest problem for snow lovers. The once suppressed GFS is now kicking the low further north and brings precip to much of the state. It has joined all the other models. IF, and I mean IF there's any wintry weather, it will likely be found across northern Arkansas late Friday. Amounts? Too early to say, but if surface temperatures are above freezing, forgetaboutit.

BELOW ARE MODELS AND MODELS ARE NOT FORECASTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOOKS PROMISING, RIGHT?

IT'S COLD, BUT NOT COLD ENOUGH. EITHER THE MODEL IS WRONG AND IT WILL BE A COLD RAIN OR TEMPERATURES WILL TREND DOWNWARD THIS WEEK. IN MY OPINION, IT WILL BE MOSTLY RAIN WITH A MIX FROM TIME TO TIME.

THE GFS IS SINGING THE SAME TUNE AS THE EURO. VERY STRANGE. THIS IS LIKE DOGS AND CATS LIVING TOGETHER.

In summary, the 60s of this past weekend will fade away and reality will return. If there's any winter weather, the north is favored Friday. With all models showing temperatures above freezing, I think the best forecast is for rain with a mix at times. It can snow with temperatures above freezing, but getting accumulations is extremely difficult, unless it comes down very hard. At this time, I don't expect this.

***USUAL DISCLAIMER***

It's still several days away and it can change. This is not set in stone. Stay tuned. blah blah blah
