Severe Thunderstorms Monday
We are well into our secondary severe weather season and we must focus our attention on Monday.
Several days ago, I sent out a tweet saying the time period around Election Day will need to be watched. At this time, I think most of the activity will be east of Arkansas by sunrise Tuesday.
It's too early to get specific about threats and exact timing, but several ingredients are coming together for a round of severe thunderstorms Monday afternoon and evening for most of the state. Yes, this will be an environment conducive for tornadoes. Will it be an outbreak of tornadoes or an outbreak of tornado warnings? How many? It's too early to say. Severe winds of 58mph or greater will be a threat as well. Flooding will also be a threat due to a saturated ground PLUS leaves clogging storm drains.
It's never too early to raise awareness, especially when you see modeling suggesting this potential. ***VERY IMPORTANT*** Severe thunderstorms will be possible Monday afternoon. Depending on timing, school admins MUST know review severe weather policies for their students.
