About a year ago, we started planning a family vacation to our favorite spot, Whitefish Ski Resort in Montana. Best kept ski secret! The mountain is literally called "Big Mountain" without the big cost of lodging and lift tickets. Easily half the cost compared to Colorado skiing and the snow is great!
Covid came around and, like you, we thought surely things will improve by January 2021. They did not. We decided to press on and glad we did. The biggest challenge, in my opinion, was flying there. We wore masks all day and washed our hands like crazy. The airline also provided sanitation wipes to clean the seatbelt, arm rest, etc.
Once we landed, we picked up groceries and settled into our condo along the slopes. If you're going to vacation in a pandemic, might want to choose something where you always wear a mask anyway! We never ate out and isolated ourselves in our place on the slopes. At Whitefish, they invented social distancing. There's hardly a lift line and plenty of mountain to ski without seeing a soul. They only allow one person or one family on a lift chair at a time. I felt perfectly safe there.
Anyway, just wanted to share with you my vacation and let you know where I've been lately. You know how much I love playing in the snow. Skiing on a few feet of powder gave me my snow fix.... for a week or so. LOL. We need to end this snow drought! The pattern we're going into is NOT boring whatsoever. Nothing showing up yet, but I like our chances this winter. I guess my vacation made me a "glass half full" kind of person.
