Here We Go Again
More heavy rainfall and flooding will become likely next week. While we should get a 2-3 day break in the wet weather, the pattern is going to set up once again to deliver periods of heavy rainfall and severe thunderstorms can't be ruled out next week. At this time, I think Tuesday through Friday look very unsettled.
A front will move into the area and stall due to the upper level flow running parallel to the front. Several disturbances will interact with copious amounts of moisture and heavy rainfall will be the result.

The Weather Prediction Center has a swath of 4-7'' over much of Arkansas. This will change once we get a better handle on the exact location of the front and the disturbances interacting with it. Needless to say, heavy rain will be likely, but determining the exact locations could change. Some of what you see below will fall Friday night into Saturday morning, but that will only account for about 1'' or so.

THIS IS ONLY A MODEL, not a forecast. This also takes into account some rainfall Friday night into Saturday, then the remainder of it Tuesday through Friday of next week. Several inches of rainfall possible on a saturated ground. Flooding will be the biggest threat. The threat for some strong to severe thunderstorms will also be possible.

The Climate Prediction Center has the risk for heavy rainfall at moderate to high for the period May 10th through the 16th. Stay with KATV Channel 7 for the newest information.
